The slide stop takes an unbelievable pounding in a 1911 Auto making it vulnerable to breakage & wear. Bullet Proof® Slide Stops are fully machined from solid bar stock with extra metal left in critical areas for added durability. But the real key to a Bullet Proof® Slide Stop is the material. After considerable research and field testing, we have found what we believe to be the finest slide stop steel possible which when properly heat treated produces a truly Bullet Proof® Slide Stop. As if this wasn't enough, Bullet Proof® Slide Stops have a built in detent, serrated top and maximum tolerance shaft. This is a drop in part requiring no fitting in properly manufactured 1911 Autos.

In the world of high-performance handguns, Wilson Combat® Bullet Proof® parts stand alone for performance, construction and value. All Wilson Combat® Bullet Proof® parts are CNC machined from solid steel billets and precisely engineered for an absolutely perfect fit-no cheap castings or inferior, imported injection molded parts will ever wear the Bullet Proof® name.

love it !
I have a para ordnance G.I. expert, after thousands of rounds factory and hand load the factory slide release broke. I chose to replace it with the bulletproof stainless and love it! Perfect fit, no issues, and looks brilliant on the gun. I would recommend it to any 1911 owner.

Installed on Kimber Ultra
Slide was locking open with rounds still in chamber, almost every mag with factory part. Installed this part with a bit of polishing on the rod and stoning where the bullet passes, and the difference is amazing!!! Fed 230gr ball and 185gr hp with no problems, locking open on empty every time with five different types of ammo. The finish is amazing and feels great, no sharp edges. Fitting may be required on your gun as on mine, but I would recommend this part 100%!

On a Para X 1911 LTC
Definitely not a drop-in for a Para 1911 .45 ACP. It needed considerable removal of material on both sides of the slide lock and on the rod. Using a Nicholson 8 Gradual/Medium hand file, I fitted his slide release. I would like to point out that the slide release finger tab is smaller than my factory slide release, which is great for conceal carry and good for avoiding accidental slide releases. Good quality piece, but definitely not a drop-in for a Commander-sized Para X 1911, and for $60+ I cannot give it a 5-star rating, but a star-4 rating.

Fixed my Kimber custom Tactical
My Kimber slide was locking back when shooting even though ammo was still in the magazine. A little research indicated the problem was the Kimber Slide Stop was slightly touching the full metal jacket bullet causing the slide stop to engage. You could machine it down or do what I did and by the Wilson Combat one. This slide stop/release fixed the problem. Thanks Wilson Combat. This is the second Kimber in as many weeks I have fixed with a different Wilson Combat part. Next pistol purchase will be a Wilson Combat. Might as well skip the pain of fixing a new gun with another companies parts.

problem solved!!!
I have a Colt Gold Cup series 80 that fails to lockup the slide after the last round is fired, the aftermarket extended slide stop that replaced the stock slide stop was suspect so i had to borrow another one to test it to see if that was the problem, sure enough the pistol ran well so i went to the local gunstore & got me the best slide stop money can buy. Went straight right in without a hitch & took it to the range to test, it never failed to lock the slide after the last round was fired, im so very happy now that my gun is working great again, thanks for a great product! Will recommend it to all my friends.

Replaced Kimber stock part
I purchased this part to replace the slide stop on my Kimber Target II. The original part was loose fitting and could be easily pushed out when the gun was operating. The new WC bullet-proof part fit more snugly but needed no fitting. I highly recommend this high quality crucial part for the 1911.

Thank You Wilson Combat
I shoot Custom Defensive Pistol in the Steel Challenge, and was excited to learn about your sponsorship of the World Championships this year. Finally, a 1911 manufacturer sponsoring the division that was designed for that pistol! I finished second in CDP, thus earning a certificate for a frame and slide kit. Thank you! The certificates for first through third place are outstanding and very much appreciated. Coincidentally, Wilson Combat helped me win that second place finish. My pistol started the day with uncharacteristic jams, and then the slide seized up entirely during the third of eight stages. A broken gun usually means the end of a match. The culprit was the slide stop - original to the pistol - which naturally chose that important day to quit on me. I ran out to the car and pulled out my bag of spare parts; I had two blued slide stops of questionable origin that were loose in the bag, and one new stainless steel Bullet Proof slide stop. I went with the known Wilson Combat quality, even though the finish clashed with my parkerized pistol. I quickly installed the new slide stop, and without any opportunity to break it in or even ensure that it fit properly, continued with the match. ZERO problems for the rest of the day, which really helped to get my focus back on shooting. Again, thank you for your support of the Steel Challenge, and a separate thank you for making a fine product.

outstanding
I recently ordered a bullet proof slide release for my para .45, original part corner rounded off during use. I recieved the wilson combat replacement I was unable to install it the pin was too big for the holes on my para. I got a green scothbrite pad removed very little material from the part. I tried and it fits like a glove now. Thanks.

Slide Release .45 ACP Bullet Proof
I was having trouble with my S&W 1911, with the Slide Stop locking back after practically every shot. I didnt know what was wrong. The Chief Range Officer at the Range I belong to fired the gun and found the slide locking back. I thought, along with friends, that the gun was jamming. After checking around on the net it looked to me that this was a common problem. SLIDE STOPS WERE OUT OF STOCK Came here and found the same thing except the Bullet Proof model was available. BIG difference in price but needed the part. YUP, I bought it. Came today, is installed and problem GONE. My 1911 works FLAWLESSLY. Very happy camper here.

Durable and sleek.
I bought this for a little customizing when I had a few extra dollars to spend. It is extremely well made and sleek. Its low profile may be harder for some to grasp, at first, but youll warm up to it if you conceal carry. It is sleek and gives the gun seem little more concealable. I love it, it will never fail to do its job.
