Detailed Description

A Wilson Combat checkered mainspring housing is a great way to improve the grip and appearance of your 1911 handgun. Our mainspring housings are fully machined from bar stock with real cut checkering. These high quality housings are a drop-in upgrade for handguns with cast or polymer housings and the same parts used in our custom guns.

No fitting required, and has a striking look vs the OEM flat mainspring. Also helped take up some rattling/slop in my grip safety.

	Better Than Expected	3/3/2014
I purchased this MSH as an upgrade from my stock, flat housing. When it arrived, I began to swap out the internal parts, but discovered that my stock mainspring would not fall into the housing Wilson warns that minor fitting may be needed. Fortunately I had purchased a Custom Tune Spring Kit from WC last year, only I didnt replace the mainspring. Once located, I tried it out, and it dropped in without issue! After reassembly, I marveled at how amazing it felt in my hands, and it looked great on my 1911. I cant comment on MSHs from other companies, but I can vouch for the quality and fit of this one. Ive made multiple purchases through WC now, and they keep building my confidence to continue doing so.

Absolutely did not fit my CQB elite. Was replacing the regular MSH and speed chute. I had to figure out the where and why of the lack of fit and file down quite a bit of metal until it would slide in all the way. Of course had I known I would not have black armor tuffed it when I ordered it.

	V-Grip Mainspring housing is a winner!	1/25/2011
Since I usually prefer arched mainspring housings and short triggers on my 1911s, I thought Id give this V-Grip a try and Im glad I did. This MSH helps keep my hand up tight under the beavertail for the highest hold possible. Other pluses - perfect drop-in fit, stainless finish matches my Stainless Wilson beavertail, clean 30 LPI checkering, fits perfectly flush with the bottom of the grip. Minus - None
