A Wilson Combat checkered mainspring housing is a great way to improve the grip and appearance of your 1911 handgun. Our mainspring housings are fully machined from bar stock with real cut checkering. These high quality housings are a drop-in upgrade for handguns with cast or polymer housings and the same parts used in our custom guns.

Perfect for Colt 1911A1 | 9/27/2017 |
I installed this into a Colt 1911A1 Series 80 - fit absolutely perfect! No fitting, filing, sanding - nothing, just slid it right in. The checkering on the back is really nice and will definitely help keep things steady. Top quality - Love it!

On a Para X 1911 LTC | 1/27/2017 |
Required about 20 minutes of fitment, looks great and feels great. Peace of mind of mind over stock polymer MSH, which is prone to breaking if firearm is dropped, on my carry weapon and its lighter than steel.

Works great in my Kimber Stainless Target II 9mm | 5/4/2015 |
Was replacing the mainspring in my Kimber Stainless Target II 9mm and busted the cheapo plastic mainspring housing. Bought this mainspring housing. Required a little filing to get it to fit, but otherwise is a solid upgrade from the factory housing. Filing was required to allow the grip safety to work correctly. Probably 2 minutes of light filing. Now works great. Looks great. Very happy

Fits better than the plastic mainspring housing | 7/23/2014 |
MSH slid right into my Kimber Gold Match II. I doubt the mainspring will pop the top of the housing off this time. The checkering is much more comfortable to grip too.

Dropped in on a Kimber Custom II just great! Feels so much better than that crappy plastic one that Kimber had on there! Highly recommend this part. Thanks Wilson!
