A Wilson Combat checkered mainspring housing is a great way to improve the grip and appearance of your 1911 handgun. Our mainspring housings are fully machined from bar stock with real cut checkering. These high quality housings are a drop-in upgrade for handguns with cast or polymer housings and the same parts used in our custom guns.

Replacement for Plastic Mainspring Housing on Kimber Ultra Carry II
Very well made and good looking part. It was an easy drop-in replacement for my Kimber Ultra Carry II. Looks and feels exponentially better than the cheap plastic part that came on it.

Impeccable Quality
As with other previous reviewers postings, I purchased a couple of these for my Kimber Ultra CDP IIs as well, and found the fit & finish to be absolutely perfect. Both of mine did not require any filing / sanding / polishing or otherwise for fitting - they slid into the frame perfectly and provide a smooth as silk action. Also, a thanks goes to Kenny in customer service for his assistance with my order.

Highest quality part coupled with a near effortless installation
Chose the Wilson stainless steel main spring housing as the replacement for the factory part in my Kimber Ultra CDP II. Couldnt be more pleased with the quality and the precision tolerance. The out of the package fit was truly impressive and required no more than a dozen passes over some 600 grit emory paper to allow the grip safety to function flawlessly. Without a doubt a part that Wilson can be extremely proud to offer.

Drop-In fit for Colt Defender!
I have two Colt 1911s and both have plastic Main Spring Housings. This part is a perfect drop-in MSH. It doesnt just look better, but the pistol grips better in my hand and is now just slightly heavier. Which I think is a good thing.

Great upgrade part
Perfect replacement for the Kimber CDP 9mm plastic part. Only a little filing required to fit just right for the safety grip adjustment. The little bit of weight it adds only makes the gun feel and handle even better than before. I will order the full sized version for another Kimber I own. Great company just down the road from me that does great things.

Perfect Upgrade
Required only extremely minor fitting. The perfect upgrade to my Kimber Stainless Ultra Raptor II. Looks and feels great! Highly recommended for those wanting to replace the factory plastic mainspring housing.

Plastic Replacement
Received 92SFO to replace plastic part Kimber used in my Stainless Ultra Carry. This is what Kimber should be using. Fit and finish are excellent.

Perfect fit
Took the POS plastic housing off my Kimber Ultra Aegis II and replaced it with the 92SFO. Outstanding fit and finish!
