General Recommendations on Lubricating Firearms:

  • ALWAYS wear safety glasses when disassembling or reassembling any firearm!
  • Do NOT over lube!!!
  • Once your firearm is broken in, lube only those areas where you see visible wear, lubricating areas that don't have contact will only attract debris and fouling.
  • After lubrication and re-assembly, cycle the firearm several times and wipe off any excess lubricant that may seep out. If you have lubed properly this should be minimal.
  • For firearms that will be used at constant temperatures below 10° F, we recommend you use a very light coat of a very thin lubricant like Break Free CLP or FP-10.

Good stuff! When you go Wilson you can’t go wrong.
The way I see it is if you spend the money for a Wilson then you should use the oil(s) they recommend. Especially if it’s a tight fitting frame and slide. You need thin oil. Thicker viscosity oil or grease will slow the cycling of the gun down and could cause some functioning issues. It should come with the pistols atleast little 2oz bottles..
Cold Weather Recommended
Some lubricants and oils seem to get a lot more viscosity, create a build-up, or simply can gum up an action in colder weather. As the temps faded I purchased this on a recommendation for keeping my firearm well lubricated, yet avoid some of the hassles of my current lube that turned into more of a grease. So far, it is exceeding expectations. Keeps a nice slick coating along the rails and on the metal slide. Internals have also kept an oil sheen, but no build up. After shooting nearly 100 rounds of 9mm, a cleaning was done using the bore cleaner, carbon remover and bore polish. A quick application of the lite oil and right back ready to go. Cleaned very easily and became very easy to use the bottles off the bench. Good Products. Rem oil is gone, Frog Lube retired and slip2000 no longer required.
Perfect Oil, really pentrates
This Lite Oil has got me hooked on Ultima-Lube II products. I had to have a bottle of each. They stay put and last longer than other oils and synthetics I have used on my ARs and 1911s. Great applicator, I recommend the 4oz bottles. They will last forever.
Took out the guesswork!
I purchased a carried/broken-in Ted Yost built, SA based, Gunsite Service Pistol. Though used and broken in, it felt a little stiff for a combat tight pistol. The Ultima-Lube II Lite was the perfect lube for reassembly of the first strip and clean. Ill admit I DO prefer a special blend my own concoction of rail grease for the hot Summer days in Texas. The pistols cycle now glides more smoothly than I expected. Im now proud to show friends how well my pistol handles as it now is as smooth as one would expect from a Ted Yost tuned pistol. An excellent lube that should work well on many of my different firearms. Thanks!
Best Lubricant
I have a collection of gun oils. I purchased this Ultima-Lube II lite oil for my firearms and have discarded the rest! This lubricant will make even the tightest .45 run flawlessly. It is the best I have ever purchased. My Les Baer loves it!
