For the new EDC X9 pistol we have collaborated with Milt Sparks Holsters to provide a unique holster option for our customers. This 55BNHS “Professional” is a classic range and carry rig that works well for a variety of uses. It is comfortable and beautifully hand crafted. This model has been enhanced with hard-wearing horsehide leather, black shark trim and a subtle “FBI-style” muzzle cant to enhance concealability under a light shirt or jacket. There are only a small quantity available at this time.
Bruce Nelsons “Professional” is arguably one of the most copied holster designs in the industry (right up there with his model “Summer Special”), with literally every maker/manufacturer offering some kind of version of it. The “Professionals” heritage is characterized by the unique combination of a sewn tunnel loop and punched rear belt slot mounting arrangement that was designed to lever the butt of the gun in tight to the body. This was an important feature as Bruce originally conceptualized the use of the model “Professional” as a cross draw holster, but the design has proven to function equally well as a strong-side holster with the application of the proper cant.
Milt in his effort to further evolve the design, added a metal reinforced mouth-band (another Bruce Nelson design concept that was borrowed from his model “Summer Special”) to ensure long lasting rigidity of the mouth of the holster as well as the addition of sewn, full-length sight rails to protect the front sight during the application of the draw stroke.
*Note-hand molded leather holsters are often tight when new and usually require some break-in prior to use. We recommend letting the gun sit holstered with a heavy plastic freezer bag or wax paper around it. Sitting holstered overnight will usually reduce tension.

Update | 7/24/2021 |
I wrapped my EDC 9 in two plastic grocery sacks and inserted one of my belts into the loops. The belt had been hard to insert as well.I placed everything in my safe and left it there for a week. Happy to say that retention is still good and a very easy draw of the weapon is now possible. The belt is still tight but is easier to insert. I am satisfied that this holster will be a good way to carry my pistol and I am amending my rating to five stars.

Frustrated | 7/17/2021 |
I bought this because the other holsters purchased from Wilson combat have been great. This is a high quality custom holster. The break in has been beyond frustrating. Over a week of wrapping the pistol in plastic bags and ziplocks trying to get the holster so that I can carry my EDC 9. Still no success for a safe carry. The fit is so tight even after a week that you can not draw the pistol without a fight to clear the holster. If I can ever get it broke in I am sure it will be a good choice. But this kind of a fit for a holster made for a particular pistol is ridiculous.
