The Classic Commander style 1911 hammer is fully CNC machined from solid tool steel bar stock and heat treated to R/C 48-52 to produce the one of the finest 1911 hammers on the market.  This hammer features a Classic Commander design that will please traditionalists for its timeless appeal. The precisely dimensioned hooks are cut to .020" with an 8 RMS ground finish and narrowed half-cock notch to prevent sear nose damage.

Combine this hammer with our Ultralight Trigger (#190) and Deluxe Sear (#314) for the ultimate trigger job.

Minor fitting required.

NOTE: All “Commander” style hammers fitted to a USGI-style 1911 will require grip safety modification for clearance or the installation of a beavertail grip safety.

Perfect
This hammer is everything that Wilson says it is. I have installed it into a 1991 with a drop in beavertail and it looks great. When I pulled it out of the package I noticed how well the sear engagement area was polished. I did have to re-fit the factory thumb safety for what it’s worth, which isn’t surprising. With the factory Colt sear, the trigger pull is a bit lighter than it was with the factory spur hammer and still has a bit of creep. I am certain it will mate nice with a Wilson sear and trigger.

Great Looking Hammer
I put this hammer along with a bulletproof sear in my RIA G.I.. Be prepared to fit the thumb safety lug, as it took a very careful bit of fitting. Aside from the fit to factory thumb saftey this hammer looks amazing with a full fit stainless bevertail and is nearly drop in. Another great Wilson part!
