Wilson Combat Premium Crosscut Mammoth Tusk Ivory 1911 Grips
These finely polished custom 1911 grips are handcrafted from premium cuts of stabilized ancient fossilized Siberian mammoth tusk. The unique crosscut style grips use the cross-section of a large tusk that has been sliced in a ring and then stabilized with dyed resin to achieve the dramatic and contrasting look. Since the tusks have been buried deep in the ground for over 8,000 years, they take on the individual character of the minerals in the surrounding soil and their colors and tones will vary. These spectacular grips have the feel and color of ivory but are legal to own in most states. They are professionally stabilized and durable with carbon fiber backings, but we do not suggest daily use or carry of these heirloom collectibles. Produced by a grip maker with decades of experience exclusively for our customers, these unique grips will look terrific on your prized custom 1911.
Note: Even though ancient Mammoths are not endangered, the trade in Mammoth tooth/tusk is illegal in NY, NJ, NV, CA, IL, and HI since it can look very similar to elephant ivory.
