The Wilson Combat One-Piece Bullet Proof Magwell/Mainspring Housing is a masterpiece of modern gunmaking technology.

The One-Piece Bullet Proof Magwell is CNC Machined from a solid billet of hardened tool steel and can be seamlessly fitted to any standard 1911 frame with the largest magazine well opening possible. Available in a variety of popular grip options, this new part is the toughest magwell on the market with a large internal opening that ensures that you never miss a reload again. The low-profile, radiused contours are legal for competition and ideal for carry guns and perfectly machined 30 line checkering matches most fine custom handguns and will resist snagging your concealment garment.

Best 1911 Magwell to Date.
I have spent months researching the best Magwell to purchase. I was looking at S&A, Ed Brown, and various others. It had to be stainless, and one piece. Who would take the time to blend a magwell and then remove the bottom half, or put a cheap aluminum shard on a stainless frame? This magwell is the only solid stainless option on the market. The huge price tag was the only deterrent, but I am very glad to have spent the extra money to purchase this one. There is quite a bit of extra material that must be removed. It took around 3 hours to blend it to the frame, and another hour to polish the finish. I recommend over blending it to fit a mag with a bottom bumper pad. I use Mec-gar mags that are much wider then the stock mags and the fitting for these took the bulk of the blending time. Pros: It looks amazing. Dramatic improvement to blind loading. Its Bulletproof as the title states. Cons: You will not be able to slam a mag without a bumper pad. I only use Mec-Gars so this is not an issue. I would have liked the checkering to go all the way to the base of the magwell like S&A, as I have large hands and wanted extra frame to hold on to. However its better then the ed brown where the base is recessed. For the money, it should have come with the internal components.

Amazing upgrade
I had to get this for a Kimber and with some minor fitting it fit perfectly. It added the steel mainspring housing needed and the finish is flawless! This is a must have if you have a 1911. I shopped around and looked at many and this is the best thing since sliced bead! WC has never let me down.

The Supergrade of Magwells!
This new magwell is absolutely Supergrade quality through and through. Its solid, incredibly well made,shows extreme attention to detail, has a magnificent appearance, displays outstanding thirty-lines per inch checkering and is a genuine drop-in part. Once installed, youll notice that the fit of this housing in your pistol is magnificent; its almost as though it was professionally fitted. If the frame of your pistol has a beveled magwell, and you want that magwell to match up with this new magwell, you will need to have the two items fitted by a gunsmith. If you dont want the two items to match up, no problem: just install the new Well and youll be ready to go. You will notice that the cost of this new magwell is substantially more than others WC has to offer. Once you have an opportunity to inspect this new Well, you will understand why and appreciate its numerous attributes. Its not all that often that one comes across a truly must have item, but this is one of them. Wanna make Christmas come early this year? If so, you now know what to do.
