Wilson Combat Ranger Profile Barrels
When light weight, fast-handling and Wilson reliability is what you demand in your next carbine, you need our Ranger barrel. The Ranger barrel taper shaves almost six ounces off our Recon model and converts your AR into an easy to carry rifle for long days in the field without any loss in practical accuracy. The Ranger is an ideal choice for hunting rifles or a gun for a smaller statured shooter.
6.8 SPC II
The 6.8 SPC (6.8x43mm) was initially developed by MSG Steve Holland and Chris Murray a United States Army Marksmanship Unit gunsmith to offer superior downrange lethality over the 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington in an AR pattern service rifle with minimal loss of magazine capacity and a negligible increase in recoil. The 6.8 SPC is also capable of outstanding accuracy and reliability.
In our match-grade, Spec II chambered 16” barrels, the 6.8 SPC is capable of pushing a .277 caliber, 85gr bullet to over 2900 FPS. 110gr bullets easily achieve 2500 FPS with factory loaded ammunition. Appropriate hand loading can achieve even higher velocities and enable the use of heavier projectiles up to 130 grains, which dramatically improves terminal ballistics over a 5.56 Nato/.223 Remington at long range. This added ballistic performance makes the 6.8 SPC perfect for home protection and SRT/SWAT teams. The 6.8 is a truly ideal hunting round for medium to heavy game and turns the AR into a serious hunting rifle.
The 6.8 SPC will require a 6.8 caliber specific bolt and magazine for reliable function.

Wilson Combat AR Barrel Service Policy
Because of the nature of the AR parts business and varying pressures of commerically avaiable ammunition, Wilson Combat cannot guarantee function in customer built AR rifles. We recommend all components be installed by a competent rifle-smith.
If you assemble a firearm with Wilson Combat components and it fails to function, you first need to check the fit of the barrel to the gas block and the overall condition of your rifle's gas system/bolt carrier group to ensure your system isn't leaking gas. As buffers and springs play a role in overall reliability, the use of an aftermarket style buffer system is not recommended. When using an adjustable gas block, reliability is best achieved at the fully open setting without any gas port restriction.
Wilson Combat will not troubleshoot customer built firearms/uppers.
If you feel a Wilson Combat component is defective, please return the component only to us using our Return Form. Shipping to Wilson Combat is the responsibility of the consumer.

|Favorite barrel so far||5/29/2020|
|I love 6.8 SPC and been hand loading it for quite a while now. But generally had heavier barrel profiles and decided to build a light weight 6.8 for hunting. I didn’t give up anything aside from unneeded weight with this profile, wish I had gone to a pencil/“ranger” ages ago for this caliber.|

|Awesome and Light||2/25/2018|
|I got this barrel basically because it was one of the lightest listed barrels on the market. In fact, after unboxing it, its actually 2 oz lighter than the listed weight of 27 oz. Its a great blend of sturdy material, is lightweight and cost effective. Forget the fact that its match grade, this barrel out-shoots my mechanics and keeps a steady 3/4 to 1 inch groups at 100 yards. It surely gets a passing score for medium sized game. Once theyre back in stock Im buying more.|
|Another Excellent 6.8 SPC Barrel||2/16/2018|
|This is the second barrel in 6.8 that Ive purchased from Wilson Combat and it is just as well made as the 16FT11 that I already own. If you want quality barrels, or parts, buy from Wilson Combat. I will be buying more items, the HAMR is on my wish list, from them.|
