|Wilson Combat .380acp 90gr. Hornady XTP.||12/12/2013|
|After doing some extensive studies on the .380acp cartridge, Ive decided that the only two JHPs I would trust for self defense are Federal Hydra-Shoks and the Hornadys with the XTP bullet. Unfortunately, Hornady has temporarily suspended production on their own .380 ammo version at this time, so I was happy to find that Wilson Combat is producing their own .380 ammo utilizing this proven JHP bullet design. I am expecting these to perform at least as good as the Hornadys, the only drawback being you only get 20 rds with the Wilson Combat as opposed to 25 rds with the Hornady, but good luck finding any right now!|
|Perfect 380 Self Defense Round||6/23/2013|
|In my research, the XTP bullet is great for .380s due to the tendency for the XTP to penetrate well while reliabily expanding to at least 0.45 inches. Other 380 JHPs that expand more generally offer insufficient penetration. Here, Wilson Combat has combined the great XTP bullet with low flash/low recoil powder to create the perfect 380 self defense round. Many 380 mouseguns are snappy in the recoil department. I compared the Wilson Combat round to other well known standard pressure defense rounds in my Ruger LCP, and the Wilson Combat XTP was noticably milder in recoil control. This type of performance combined with Wilson Combats excellent quality control are a perfect recipe for a 380 self defense round.|
|Sig P238 HD||5/14/2011|
|I purchased my wife a Sig P238 HD and I wanted to check it out before I gave it to her. I shot about 100 rounds of range ammo thru it with no problems. Based on previous experience, I knew that I wanted her to use Wilson ammo when she carried the pistol. So I purchased a box of the Wilson 380. I shot all 20 rounds with no malfunctions and it was very accurate. I shot under two inch groups -four shot groups- at 7 and 15 yards. I even videoed two shots to see if the flash was less than the range ammo - it was. Great ammo!|
