The Wilson Combat machined, hand polished, match grade stainless barrel is the core of these accurate and reliable upper units that will turn your lower into a custom AR rifle well equipped for hunting, duty or tactical competition.
Other Wilson Combat components like our versatile and lightweight TRIM rail, Accu-Tac flash hider and NP3 bolt carrier assembly with ensure that your upper exceeds your cosmetic and performance expectations.
Each Wilson Combat High Performance custom upper is test fired and finished in our Armor-Tuff coating and is certified to drop on and function with any mil-spec, AR lower unit.
Recon SR
The Recon SR (Suppressor Ready) is the ideal package for a tactical shooter who wants the shortest possible suppressed AR-15 rifle that isn’t classified as an NFA registered weapon. The Recon SR has an extra long 14.0” TRIM rail for a seamless mating to our Whisper Suppressor and extra real estate for your preferred rail mounted accessories. The Recon SR has a 14.7” medium weight barrel that is ideal for a high rate of fire and features a permanently mounted Rapid Thread attachment that attaches to our Wilson Combat Whisper Suppressor. A permanently attached Accu-Tac flashider is available for locales where owning a suppressor is not an option. .458 SOCOM
The .458 SOCOM is a relatively large round designed for a specialized upper receiver that can be mounted on any AR-15 pattern rifle.

The industry standard 1-14 twist seems to be the best choice for over 350 gr. bullets and/or subsonic loads and will shoot all suitable bullet weights acceptably well. We recommend this twist rate if you plan to use a suppressor to eliminate the chance of a baffle strike.
